Friend will no doubt have seen in the press statements which purport to express the attitude of the United 2311 States Government on this matter, but I have received no official confirmation of these statements. I should, however, like to take this opportunity of repeating the welcome given by my right hon. Friend, the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, to any attempt at international collaboration on this most important problem.
