asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office what amount and proportions of work were given by the War Office to each of the Government national factories, as compared with private enterprise, during the financial years 1931 and 1932?

Mr. COOPER

As the answer contains a number of figures, I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. HICKS

Can the hon. Gentleman say if there is any variation in the practice so far as the proportion of allocation to the national factories as against private factories is concerned?

Mr. COOPER

There is a slight increase in the proportion given to the national factories against that given to private firms.

Mr. KIRKWOOD

Can the hon. Gentleman say if they are doing any work for Japan just now?

Following is the answer:
