Mr. CHAMBERLAINI am satisfied that no useful steps can be taken in the present circumstances towards the com- 1271 mutation of this pension. As stated by my predecessor on 5th October last, Lord Nelson made a voluntary contribution of £500 to the Exchequer last year, and proposes to make a similar contribution this year.
