HC Deb 03 May 1932 vol 265 c947
15. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will issue instructions to the officers who are carrying out a survey of the estuary of the River Exe to forward at the earliest possible moment a special report with reference to his Order prohibiting Topsham men from dredging?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

The hydro-graphic survey which is being made by the Admiralty will not include a report on the question of dredging operations, though it is hoped that it will provide valuable data for the consideration of that question.

Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

Will the hon. Gentleman do something to hasten this matter, as 40 men are out of work in consequence of this Order?

32. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty when it is expected that the survey of the estuary of the River Exe, which is being made by His Majesty's Ship "Flinders," will be completed?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Lord Stanley)

It is is expected that this survey will be completed before the end of this month, provided weather conditions permit.
