HC Deb 03 May 1932 vol 265 cc947-8
19. Mr. JAMES MacANDREW

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that it is inadmissible to have Scotch beef graded as such if the cattle are slaughtered in London; and what steps he intends to take to rectify this position, which results in a diminished price?

The SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Sir Archibald Sinclair)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, the position has been noted for consideration in connection with the recommendations contained in the recently published report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on the Grading and Marking of Beef.
