HC Deb 07 March 1932 vol 262 cc1463-4
22. Mr. LAWSON

(for Mr. HICKS) asked the Minister of Pensions if he can state the number of new claims made in January, 1931, and January, 1932, and the number of inquiries and/or letters of complaint received in each month?

Major TRYON

New claims of all kinds made by officers and men, widows and dependants, in January of last year numbered about 1,200, while complaints addressed to the Minister numbered 458. There has been a gratifying decrease in both classes of correspondence, the number of new claims having fallen to 700 in January of this year and the number of complaints to the Minister to 273.
