HC Deb 07 March 1932 vol 262 cc1470-1
36. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Postmaster-General if he will state the result of his representations to the British Broadcast- ing Corporation on the subject of the suggested curtailment by the Covent Garden Opera Syndicate of the programme of opera performances in respect of which a subsidy has been granted?

Sir K. WOOD

I am in communication with the British Broadcasting Corporation, but I am not yet in a position to make any further statement.

Mr. LEWIS

If I put a question down a week hence, will the right hon. Gentleman be able to answer then?

Sir K. WOOD

I will communicate with my hon. Friend on the matter.

Lieut.-Colonel Sir FREDERICK HALL

Is not this an important matter, and would it not be possible to give a public reply?

Sir K. WOOD

Yes. I desire to make a public reply. I shall indicate to my hon. Friend when to put down a question.
