HC Deb 02 March 1932 vol 262 cc1100-1
31. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the Secretary for Mines what decision has been reached with regard to the continuation of the work of the Coal Mines Reorganisation Commission?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Isaac Foot)

The Coal Mines Reorganisation Commission, set up under Part II of the Coal Mines Act, 1930, is actively engaged upon the work entrusted to it by Parliament. Apart from certain repre- sentations made by the Mining Association, which will of course be considered, no occasion has arisen for arriving at any decision in relation to the continuation of the work of the Commission. The recent reports to the contrary effect which have appeared in the Press have neither authority nor foundation.
