HC Deb 27 June 1932 vol 267 cc1470-1
39. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, with regard to the proposed conference to consider the report of His Majesty's Ship "Flinders" on the estuary of the River Exe, he will arrange for the Topsham men, whose livelihood depends on their being allowed to dredge in this estuary, to be represented on this conference?

Mr. COLVILLE

The proposed conference has been arranged to discuss with the authorities directly concerned the technical aspects of the results disclosed by the recently completed survey of the mouth of the Exe, and in these circumstances the Topsham bargemen have not been asked to send representatives. I can assure the hon. and gallant Member that their interests will not be overlooked.
