HC Deb 27 June 1932 vol 267 c1451
6. Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the Secretary of State for India what has been the average expenditure by his Department and the Government of India, respectively, on official cables between England and India; and whether am investigation has been made into the possibility of reducing this expenditure by erecting an official wireless station on the same lines as that possessed by the Admiralty for communication with His Majesty's Navy on foreign stations?

Sir S. HOARE

The average expenditure on official telegrams to India during the past three years has been approximately £6,700 per annum; I have no information as to the average amount expended by the Government of India in telegraphing to this country. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative.
