HC Deb 27 June 1932 vol 267 cc1451-2
7. Mr. DAVID GRENFELL

asked the Secretary of State for India if he will inform the House of the position in regard to the trial of the accused in the Meerut conspiracy case; how many months the accused have, so far, been under detention and how much longer the trial is expected to take; and whether any and, if so, how many of the accused have been allowed bail?

Sir S. HOARE

The accused were arrested on the 20th March, 1929. Judgment is now expected to be delivered about the end of September. Thirteen of the accused in all have been admitted to bail, but, in the case of two of these, bail was subsequently cancelled.
