§ Major ELLIOTThe total expenditure on salaries, wages and allowances, travelling and incidental expenses of the His- 1249 torical Section of the Committee of Imperial Defence, which is responsible for the compilation of the Official Histories of the War, from 1st April, 1916, to 31st March, 1932, was approximately £202,000. No official history of the post-War period is contemplated.
