HC Deb 23 June 1932 vol 267 c1246
25. Mr. MACMILLAN

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the annual report of the medical officer of health for Stockton dealing with the effects of the industrial depression, and the consequent prevailing poverty, upon the health of the community; and whether he proposes to take any steps towards the extension of health services?

Sir H. YOUNG

I have received the report to which, my hon. Friend refers. I am not sure what extension of health services he has in view, but I may remind him that local authorities have been asked, when reviewing their expenditure, to pay special regard to the services which are required on urgent grounds of public health.
