HC Deb 23 June 1932 vol 267 cc1264-5
Mr. DINGLEFOOT

(by Private Notice) asked the Prime Minister whether he can give any information to the House as to the attitude of His Majesty's Government towards the disarmament proposals of the President of the United States which were published yesterday?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir John Simon)

I have been asked to reply. These proposals are receiving the immediate consideration of His Majesty's Government. My hon. Friend is no doubt aware of the statement which I made at Geneva yesterday, to which at present I have nothing to add.

Mr. FOOT

Will the right hon. Gentleman give any indication when he is likely to be able to add something to that statement?

Sir J. SIMON

I have already pointed out to my hon. Friend that the proposals are receiving the immediate consideration of the Government, and I do not think that more than that can be said.

Mr. MAXTON

Will the right hon. Gentleman refer us to a journal where we can get a reliable report of what he did say yesterday?
