§ 7. Mr. D. GRENFELLasked the Secretary of State for India the reasons for the continued postponement of the calling together again of the consultative committee of the India Round Table Conference; and when it is now expected the committee will be called for its next meeting?
§ Sir S. HOAREThe committee was to have met again on the 23rd May, but the Viceroy was informed that it was the almost unanimous wish of the members themselves that this meeting should be postponed. While I am at present unable to give a date for its next meeting, I hope that it will not be unduly delayed and that numerous questions that still need discussion will appear on its agenda.
