HC Deb 13 July 1932 vol 268 cc1270-1
31. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade what reply he has returned to the request of the British Chambers of Commerce to receive a deputation to discuss exchange restrictions on our foreign trade and the methods proposed to alleviate the difficulties?

Mr. COLVILLE

I have agreed to receive a deputation from the Association of British Chambers of Commerce on this subject.

Mr. CHORLTON

May I ask what action will be taken during the Recess to accelerate the settlement of this question, which is affecting trade so seriously?

Mr. COLVILLE

It will be impossible within the compass of a question and answer to outline what is proposed. I hope to have an opportunity of explaining more fully to this deputation of Chambers of Commerce the point that my hon. Friend raises.
