HC Deb 12 July 1932 vol 268 cc1093-4
15. Mr. DAVID ADAMS

asked the Financial. Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that John William Miller, late No. 11543, Royal Army Service Corps, a copy of whose birth certificate has been shown to the authorities of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, has been refused a pension due to him on reaching the age of 65 years because the records at the Royal Hospital do not coincide with his birth certificate, due to the man having been enlisted from a Poor Law institution by Poor Law guardians; and if he will inquire into this case?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Duff Cooper)

I have made inquiries into this case, and I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 5th July to the hon. Member for Westhoughton (Mr. Rhys Davies).
