HC Deb 15 February 1932 vol 261 c1272
39. Mr. SMITH-CARINGTON (for Mr. KIMBALL)

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps have been taken to ensure that imported fresh milk offered for sale in the name of a British dealer or trader shall bear an indication of the country of origin?

Sir J. GILMOUR

No case has been brought to the notice of my Department of a contravention of the provisions of Section 1 of the Merchandise Marks Act, 1926, in respect of imported liquid milk. It is open to any person to institute proceedings under the Merchandise Marks Acts where its provisions are thought to be contravened. In addition, my Department is always prepared to consider taking suitable action in any such case, provided the necessary information is available.
