HC Deb 15 February 1932 vol 261 cc1272-3
44. Mr. GLOSSOP (for Captain HALL)

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consider the desirability of setting up at an early date a recognised standard for cream to provide that no cream should be sold as such unless it contains a stipulated percentage of butter fat?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have no powers to enable me to set up a legal minimum standard for cream, as suggested by my hon. and gallant Friend.

Mr. GLOSSOP

In view of the desirability of the British farmer supplying the general public with cream of a uniform standard, will the right hon. Gentleman suggest to the Publications Department of the Ministry that they should publish a pamphlet on this question?
