HC Deb 11 February 1932 vol 261 cc991-2
3. Mr. HUTCHISON

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the volume of unemployment among British musicians, he can state the numbers of these artistes who at the present time come under the operation of the Unem- ployment Insurance Acts; and what steps the Employment Exchanges are accustomed to take to stimulate the employment of these men?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Henry Betterton)

I regret that separate figures are not available regarding the number of musicians insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts. Every effort is made by the Employment Exchanges to bring musicians who are registered as unemployed into touch with suitable employment.
