HC Deb 10 February 1932 vol 261 c843
39. Captain BALFOUR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the number of hours flown per fatal accident in the Royal Air Force for the years 1929,1930, and 1931?

Sir P. SASSOON

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the exhaustive speech made in 1927 by the then Prime Minister after he had made a. personal investigation of the question of Air Force accidents in which he explained in some detail the undesirability of publishing statistics of this character. My Noble Friend is satisfied that it would be contrary to the interests of the Service to depart from previous practice in this regard.
