Mr. HALL-CAINEasked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been called to the activities of the director of statistics in asking for similar details to those given in the Census of Production; if he can state what is the scope of these activities; and what is the cost of them to the taxpayer?

Mrs. COPELANDasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the necessity for economy, he will consider discontinuing the issue of the forms (issued during the War) twice a year to furniture shops, upholsterers, etc., regarding the amount of flock they use and how many armchairs and sofas they are making, etc.?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAIt has been found impossible to identify the forms of return to which my hon. Friends refer, but if they will furnish me with further particulars the matter will be looked into.
