HC Deb 09 February 1932 vol 261 c644
34. Mr. GURNEY BRAITHWAITE

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether a court of inquiry has been held into the circumstances of the death of Private Benjamin Clark, No. 3,186,292, of the King's Own Scottish Borderers, who was fatally shot in barracks at Fort George on 24th October, 1931; and, if so, whether the findings of such court have been communicated to the deceased's next of kin?

Mr. COOPER

A court of inquiry was held to investigate the circumstances of this soldier's death, hut, in accordance with the King's Regulations, it was not required to give any opinion as to the cause of death. The soldier's father was with him at the time of his death and full details were given to him verbally by the commanding officer.
