§ 52 and 53. Mr. ALBERY
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he can make a statement on the present international financial situation and reparations;
(2) if he can state whether an agreement has now been reached with the French Government on the question of German reparations?
I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for the Eastern Division of Wolverhampton (Mr. Mander) on the 2nd February, to which at present I have nothing to add.
§ Mr. HOLFORD KNIGHT
In order to assist the discussion and consideration of these matters, will the right hon. Gentleman be good enough to consider the issue of a return showing the scaling down of the indebtedness of foreign Governments to this country arising out of the late War?
§ Mr. KNIGHT
On inquiry at the Treasury recently, I was informed that it was not; that is why I make this request.
