HC Deb 09 February 1932 vol 261 cc660-1
1. Mr. McENTEE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he will give particulars of the cancellations that have been made in the orders placed for printing by the Empire Marketing Board; whether any economy has been effected in the Department; and What is the estimated expenditure for the 12 months ending 31st. March, 1932?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The Empire Marketing Board has not found it necessary to cancel any orders for printing, as for some months it has been carefully restricting its commitments in this as in all other of its fields of activity. Substantial economies have been effected by the Board. The total expenditure during the year ending the 31st March, 1932, originally estimated at £659,000 is now not expected to exceed £534,000.
