HC Deb 19 December 1932 vol 273 c729
22. Mr. DORAN

asked the Postmaster-General, if he will consider an early return to penny postage in order to stimulate trade and national self-confidence?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir Kingsley Wood)

I am afraid that in present circumstances I can hold out no hope of the early restoration of penny postage.

Mr. DORAN

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that he could get 10 times the amount if he had the courage to make the venture?

Sir K. WOOD

No, sir.
