§ Sir J. GILMOURYes, Sir. Every applicant for enrolment in the Metropolitan Special Constabulary Reserve has to submit a letter of recommendation either from a householder or from a serving special constable. The appointment must also be recommended by the officer in charge of the police station and the Divisional Commandant of the Special Constabulary, and must be approved at headquarters.
§ Mr. LUNNIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that one of these men has been released on bail from the Central Criminal Court and is still acting as a special constable?
