HC Deb 25 April 1932 vol 265 c23
38. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been called to the objection of butchers to financing the National Mark beef scheme; and whether, in view of the fact that this scheme has proved to be of benefit to British farmers, he will consider the possibility of making such changes in the scheme as will enable it to meet the views of all parties concerned?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have seen references in the Press to the views of a section of the meat trade on this subject, and I will see that my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion is borne in mind when the recommendations of the recent inter-departmental committee are considered.
