HC Deb 25 April 1932 vol 265 c28
51. Mr. TOUCHE

asked the Minister of Labour the approximate number of foreigners to whom it is intended to grant a permit to enter this country in connection with the proposed visit of a German circus, and the amount of British labour to be employed by the circus?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

It is proposed to issue permits for about 130 foreigners, exclusive of artists, for whom figures cannot yet be given. It is anticipated that, exclusive of British artists, the circus will employ about 100 residents in this country, apart from incidental employment on account of transport, forage and other expenditure.
