HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 c1633
41. Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if the Welsh community in Patagonia was adversely affected by the recent volcanic eruptions in South America; and, if so, to what extent?

Mr. EDEN

My right hon. Friend has received no report on the effects of the recent volcanic disturbances on the Welsh community in Patagonia, but he will be happy to communicate to the hon. Member any official information on this point which may subsequently reach him.

Captain P. MACDONALD

Is it not a fact that this volcanic eruption has submerged a portion of the English population also?

Mr. MACQUISTEN

Is there any reason for believing that volcanoes have a worse effect on the Welsh population than upon other nationalities?
