HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 cc1632-3
40. Miss CAZALET

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can inform the House of the terms in which it is intended to reply to the request from the Secretary-General of the League of Nations, on 24th October, 1931, for the views of the British Government on the question of reconsideration of the Hague Nationality Convention and the claims on this matter put before the last Assembly by the International Women's Consultative Committee?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

The matter is receiving the attention of His Majesty's Government, but no decision has yet been reached.

Miss CAZALET

Can the hon. Gentleman say when the reply is likely to be sent?

Mr. EDEN

I am afraid I cannot say, but I am hoping that it will not be later than July.
