HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 c1631
37. Mr. PIKE

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that on Friday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 25th, 27th, 28th, and 29th March, respectively, the three sub-post offices of the Wood-seats, Sheffield, district were closed, and that the nearest available post office is three and a-half miles distant; and whether, in order to avoid future inconvenience to the public, he will ensure that postal, telegraphic, and telephonic facilities are available at at least one sub-office within the district during holiday periods?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Graham White)

I am making inquiries, and will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.

Mr. HOLFORD KNIGHT

Is the lion. Gentleman aware that a suspension of the postal facilities over this period is general and will the Post Office take steps to avoid it in future?
