HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 cc1614-5
6. Mr. DAVID DAVIES

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that Dutch and other merchants are circularising persons in London informing them that plovers' eggs may be ordered through a greengrocer; and what action is being taken by his Department to prevent such sales of plovers' eggs in this country?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir Herbert Samuel)

Inquiries are being made by the police on the strength of information which has just been furnished.

Mr. MACQUISTEN

Is it not the case that these plovers 'eggs are gulls' eggs?
