Mr. LECKIEasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has now considered the resolution passed by the Walsall Town Council in February, requesting that Sections 20 to 29 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1889, which relate to the sale of coal, should be extended to apply to the sale of coke and patent fuels; and what action he proposes to take?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANLegislation would be necessary to give effect to this proposal. I cannot do more at present than promise that it will be considered when an opportunity occurs for amending the Weights and Measures Acts.
