Mr. STANLEYSpecial constables have not been asked to offer their services for ordinary police work or to assist the police in any particular district; but an opportunity has been afforded for a few at a time to volunteer for a short period of training. My right hon. Friend explained the position in reply to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for North Southwark (Mr. Strauss) on 7th April.
