asked the Home Secretary whether he can state the number of accidents, fatal and otherwise, which have occurred during the past 12 months in that portion of the London Road, Mitcham, which lies between Fair Green and Streatham Lane?

Sir H. SAMUEL

During the year ending on 31st October, 56 accidents in this road were reported to the police. Of these one was fatal, 28 involved personal injury, and the remaining 27 damage only. The injury or damage was recorded as "slight" in 53 of the cases. There was a further fatal accident there on 23rd November.

Have the police reported the dangerous condition of this road?
