HC Deb 26 November 1931 vol 260 cc509-10
74. Mr. PIKE

asked the Minister of Health the number of insured pensioners continuing in employment, as compared to the numbers dismissed from employment upon attaining the age of 65 years?

Sir H. YOUNG

The number of insured pensioners over 65 years of age continuing in employment, as indicated by the cards received in my Department bearing stamps for one or more weeks in the first half of this year, is nearly 340,000, but neither my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour nor I have any information as to the number of such pensioners who lost their employment upon attaining the age of 65.
