HC Deb 23 November 1931 vol 260 cc41-2
60. Lieut.-Colonel FREMANTLE

asked the First Commissioner of Works when the paintings of geese and ducks in St. James's Park, which were removed for restoration by his predecessor in office, will be replaced?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

It had been intended to replace these paintings, which had become much dilapidated, by new drawings drawn by an artist and reproduced on glazed tiles. Some of the new drawings have been prepared, but, without the assistance of private benefactions, I fear the cost may make it necessary for me to postpone the manufacture of the tiles.
