HC Deb 12 November 1931 vol 259 cc252-3
28. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps the Government propose to take to enable the farmers of this country to secure a market for their wheat at a price sufficient to cover the cost of production?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The question raised by my hon. Friend is clearly one of the matters which will fall to be reviewed in connection with the general consideration of policy which is taking place. I am not, however, at present in a position to add anything to the statement which I made last night in the Debate on the Address.

Mr. LEWIS

Will the right hon. Gentleman hold out any hope that he can make a more definite statement before we adjourn for the Christmas holidays?

Sir J. GILMOUR

A statement will be. made as soon as possible.
