HC Deb 21 May 1931 vol 252 c2202
69. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for India whether any further consideration has been given to the recommendations of the Butler Committee with regard to a reorganisation of the political service since the Round Table Conference adjourned; and, if so, whether any conclusions have been arrived at?

Mr. BENN

No, Sir. The matter has not been overlooked, but further consideration of it must await the settlement of the major constitutional issues now under discussion.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that two years ago he gave much the same answer; and may I ask when this matter will be dealt with?

Mr. BENN

The hon. and gallant Member will be aware that this matter involves constitutional discussions.
