HC Deb 21 May 1931 vol 252 c2194
47. Mr. SCOTT

asked the Prime Minister whether he has considered the resolution sent to him by the Convention of Royal Burghs of Scotland expressing approval of the Court of Session Bill, and recommending the passage of the Measure through Parliament; and whether he will give the necessary facilities for ensuring that the Bill shall be passed at an early date this Session?

The PRIME MINISTER

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I am in communication with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland on the subject but, in view of the present state of Parliamentary business, I cannot give any undertaking to afford facilities for this Bill.

Mr. SCOTT

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that this Bill has the support of all parties in the House, and will he therefore endeavour to expedite it?

The PRIME MINISTER

That information is not in accord with the information that has reached me.
