HC Deb 14 May 1931 vol 252 c1346
22. Mr. DAY

asked the Home Secretary whether in view of the fact that the mobile police have been involved in 120 accidents since their inauguration, any members of this force have been prosecuted for any offences under the Motor Car Acts?

Mr. CLYNES

There have been no such prosecutions. A large proportion of these accidents were trivial, as I have already stated, and involved no other person or vehicle.

Mr. DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any special instructions have been issued that some of these drivers, who are a positive danger to other road users, should be prosecuted?

Mr. CLYNES

I have heard of no reason for issuing special instructions, but I shall be glad to have any information which would enable me to consider the matter.
