20. Mr. ROSS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether it is the policy of the Admiralty that in future destroyer- leaders should be inferior in fighting capacity to destroyers; and, if so, upon what considerations this policy is based?

Mr. AMMON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative, and therefore the second part does not arise.

Mr. ROSS

Has the Admiralty abandoned the policy of building destroyer-leaders of a superior type to the destroyers which they are supposed to lead?

Mr. AMMON

The hon. Member has asked a question, and I have given him a very definite answer.

Mr. ROSS

Is the hon. Member unable to answer my supplementary question? If so, I will put another question on the Order Paper.
