HC Deb 04 May 1931 vol 252 c17
27. Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the Minister of Pensions the reasons which have led to the refusal by the War Pensions Committee of the application in the case of Frederick Brazil, of 90, Evesham Street, Redditch, for pension and treatment as a result of conditions arising from war service?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Mr. F. O. Roberts)

Since the reply given to the hon. Member's previous question on 23rd February last, this case has been again before the Ministry accompanied by additional statements on behalf of the claimant. All the circumstances and evidence submitted have been most carefully considered with the assistance of an inndpendent medical specialist, but I am advised that it cannot be certified that the man's present condition is the result of his war service. I regret, therefore, that I am unable to take further action in regard to the case.

Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

Is it not a fact that this man is backed by the highest medical authorities, specialists in London and the country, as well as his own local doctor? What more could anybody do in his case?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am not in a position to answer that question off-hand, but I know that the case has been before one of the highest specialists at the Ministry. If the hon. Member can give me any additional information I will have the matter further investigated.
