HC Deb 04 May 1931 vol 252 cc36-7
80. Major the Marquess of TITCH-FIELD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if any estimate has been made of the probable cost of the valuation work for the Taxation of Land Values Bill?

81. Mr. WELLS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the cost of the new land valuation estimated for the current financial year and succeeding years until the valuation is completed?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

I would ask the hon. Members to be good enough to await the statement which my right hon. Friend will be making later in the afternoon.

Mr. WELLS

Can the hon. Gentleman state whether the Chancellor of the Exchequer has made any provision for this expenditure in the Budget; and if so, what is the amount?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

I would prefer that the hon. Gentleman should await what my right hon. Friend has to say.

Sir W. DAVISON
