HC Deb 04 May 1931 vol 252 c19
36. Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is now in a position to state when the Agricultural Conference will be summoned to meet?

Dr. ADDISON

Valuable work has already been done by this conference, but at present I do not think any useful purpose would be served by summoning it to meet again.

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

Did not the right hon. Gentleman indicate before the Recess that he anticipated that this committee would be no longer necessary?

Dr. ADDISON

I think the right hon. Gentleman is confusing this with the Agricultural Advisory Committee which has been in a dormant position for many years, and which I propose to resuscitate.
