HC Deb 12 March 1931 vol 249 cc1377-8
62. Mr. ALBERY

asked the Minister of Health in what cases he has exercised the powers conferred upon him by the Land Drainage Act of 1930?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I presume the hon. Member refers to the power conferred on me by the Act of making Provisional Orders of my own motion for constituting Joint Committees for the prevention of pollution. This power has not yet been exercised. I would refer at the same time to my reply of 5th instant to a question by the hon. Member for Lancaster (Mr. Ramsbotham).

Mr. ALBERY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether he intends to exercise these powers?

Mr. GREENWOOD

Yes. If the hon. Member will read my reply to an earlier question he will see what is contemplated.
