HC Deb 12 March 1931 vol 249 cc1370-1
48. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Prime Minister whether, as it is now a year since the announcement was made that a fishery inquiry was to be set up, he will request the committee to issue an interim report, in order that the industry may consider the information now available and act upon it, if advisable, pending the issue of a final report?

The PRIME MINISTER

The committee have already submitted one interim report, and I see no advantage in asking them to submit another, in view of the fact that they are now engaged in the preparation of their final report.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the interim report has already been acted upon?

The PRIME MINISTER

Yes.

Mr. WOMERSLEY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that a report that we are going to have more coal will be more useful than this report?
