asked the Minister of Agriculture the total number of male workers on agricultural holdings exceeding one acre on 4th June, 1914, 1925, 1926, and 1927, respectively; and how many of these were adults?

Dr. ADDISON

The total numbers of male workers returned as being in employment on agricultural holdings exceeding one acre in England and Wales on 4th June, 1925, 1926, and 1927 were 694,161, 690,343, and 672,185, respectively. The corresponding numbers of adult male workers in these years were 532,814, 535,097, and 519,913. Similar information was not obtained in 1914.

Can the right hon. Gentleman get any approximate figures for 1914 for the purposes of comparison?

Dr. ADDISON
