HC Deb 09 March 1931 vol 249 c803
64. Mr. BOYCE

asked the Postmaster-General what was the total amount paid or payable by the Imperial and local Governments during 1930 to steamship companies for the carriage of mails to and from British territories in East Africa; and whether any, and, if so, how much, of this money was payable to foreign companies?

Mr. ATTLEE

The necessary inquiries are not yet completed, and I will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.

Mr. HACKING

May I ask the hon. Member whether, in addition to looking after East Africa, he is still considering the interests of Lancashire?
